Reverse Engineer Great Retention
Hi, this is Dr. Noel Lloyd and I’m on the Burke Gilman Trail this morning and it’s commuting hour. The bicyclists are whizzing by me, but in this short video I’m going to talk about reverse engineering, great retention.
So, here’s what I mean about reverse engineering, great retention. Let’s go to a Tuesday afternoon, you come in after lunch and the place is packed. Patients who you have seen for years are sitting in reception area and they go, “Hi Doc, how you doing?” “Doing fine!”
People are sitting in groups. These are groups that have met and have gotten to know each other courtesy of your reception area and the fact that they’re a long time patient. You see the whole afternoon and it’s just a treat.
The people that you’re working with understand chiropractic. They’re committed. They get adjusted every month, they get adjusted every other week, some people are actually getting adjusted every week. Isn’t that fun!
Now, let’s reverse engineer how we’re going to put together an afternoon like that, several afternoons like that, whole days like that, and a PVA of let’s say 100 or better. In this next segment we’ll talk about exactly how we do that.
So, in talking about reverse engineering your PVA, let’s go back to when we meet the patient Day One. It’s our first handshake in the reception area or in your adjustment area and you smile and see that person. Now, there’s a thought in your mind. You want to see that person become a lifetime chiropractic patient.
What am I going to need to do in order to lay a foundation on Day One in order for them to be a lifetime chiropractic patient? What am I going to need to do on Day Two for them to be a lifetime chiropractic patient? How do I set up care plans, how do I set up their education so that they don’t fall out in the first 3, 4, 5, 6 visits where a lot of people lose their patients?
What do I need to do in the examinations or the re-examination and what do I need to do as far as helping someone come to the point where they understand that they need to go through relief, correction, strengthening, and then maintenance and then wellness.
Well, one of the things that we’re going to do is we’re going to meet together in Chicago and in Seattle and do a retention intensive live training where we’re going to reverse engineer the different, what I call stick points or key pieces to have lifetime chiropractic patients.
