Onboarding Secrets Revealed

Over the last couple weekends we’ve done some live trainings, High Volume, Low Stress: Installing the Associate Operating System and I talked about onboarding. Onboarding is defined as introducing somebody to your culture so if you bring on an associate, you want them introduced to your culture as quickly as possible.
Here’s one of the things that I do. As soon as the contract is signed and I mean with the contract ink still wet and smudge-able, I pull out a package of information. I want to get them started first of all clinically, I’m going to give them my exam procedures and I’m going to give them information on how they can assist me in the clinic clinically.
Number two, I’m going to give them information on patient management. They’ll need to have scripts in order to be able to help people do the right thing in the right way.
Number three if they’re going to be successful, they’re going to need to have marketing material so they get marketing material and I go over that.
Number four, this is one of the most important things that you can do, is take them through the employee office policy. What that will do is teach them how to treat you, how to treat the staff, how to treat the practice, how to treat chiropractic, and how to treat the patient. It’s basically what I call an office citizenship piece so that when they show up they know what to wear, when they show up they know how to address the team, when they show up they know what type of responsibility that they have to the practice, the patients, the staff, and you.
It sets them up on a successful track. You want your associate to be successful, they want to be successful, don’t think that they can be mind readers because they aren’t.
