How to Accomplish All Your 5 Year Goals in the Next 12 Months
Hey, my name’s Dr. George Birnbach, and I wanna talk to you today about how you can achieve your next five years of goals, your next 10 years of goals inside of the next 12 months, because there’s something that you really do need to know. When I meet chiropractors, there’s a fundamental irony to the chiropractic lives that they live. Many of them don’t quite know what they wanna do with their practices, right? What they wanna do with their chiropractic lives. And yet, they’re very busy, they’re very active. Most of these doctors went to college without having a reason of what they wanted to get out of their career. So they go floating around going, I’m doing this thing, and then I’m doing that thing, but they still are now in practice, and they haven’t seen enough practices running the way that they would like their ideal practice to run. So how could they possibly know the difference between making good decisions or bad decisions as they’re moving along, trying to create something that they hope will lead them to somewhere.
Now, when you know what you want, when you have seen the practice you wanna own, you tend to see the world a little bit differently, and you start to selectively put your attention on things that interest or excite you that will lead you closer to that vision. So when you decide or you’ve seen what it is you want, something magical happens. You start to see opportunities everywhere. And so how can you achieve your five-year plan in the next 12 months? Well, we have to start with looking around and seeing someone else doing what we would like to have. That’s the beauty of Five Star Management. That’s the beauty of the Galaxy group, is that the people in the group are creating what other people in the group aspire to have. And so the path to get there starts opening itself up. Because no matter where it is you wanna go, there is a long conventional road to get there. The blood, sweat, and tears, climb the mountain. But there’s also a shorter, less conventional approach to get there. The conventional approach, the standard approach is usually done by someone alone, where they don’t have to pay attention that much. They’re just following some path that other people said would work. And that’s what happens when you let other people dictate your direction and your speed in your life.
However, once you identified what they’re doing is exactly what I want, once I’ve defined that process, I’ve narrowed the scope of what will distract me, then you can arouse your attention in an amazing and intense way. You will notice simpler and easier solutions to move faster, to bound over the hurdles and the objections and the restrictions and what might have taken you 10 years in a traditional manner, and five years in a traditional manner, might only take you a few months with the right information, the right mentors, and the right people around you. Just because other people have limiting beliefs on growing a practice in the modern environment doesn’t mean you have to, right? The advice you take and the people you surround yourself with matter. You’re being influenced, especially subconsciously by the influences you take to heart. There are people out there in practice, operating at brilliantly high levels. And if you’re serious about making changes in your practice, you have to find those people, and you have to hear what they’re doing and begin to think like them. And you’ll be stunned at how fast your life can change.
Remember that courage to act doesn’t just involve saying yes. It also involves saying no. But how can you possibly say no to certain opportunities, if you don’t know what you want? You don’t know if I should go down that road or not. Right? Without an end result in mind, it doesn’t really matter what direction you’re going. You’re just gonna be busy, eventually get tired. So how would you know if that’s a decision that you should make? Well, you can’t. And like most people who feel busy, but don’t feel like they’re making traction, you can easily become seduced by the next best thing that happens to pop up, the shiny, pretty thing that pops up. Ralph Waldo Emerson, the poet once said, and I love this. “Once you make a decision, “the universe conspires to make it happen.” And I believe that quote is completely true.
Once you know what you want, you can stop taking advice from just any book or anyone. You can filter out the endless noise by narrowing the scope of your vision, and you can hone in on what is the truth to you, the true path to you. Eventually, you train your conscious mind to only focus on what you really want in life and everything else gets outsourced and set aside. It becomes forgotten to your subconscious. So what this video is about is to get a clear vision and decide what you want, because if you don’t decide what you want, someone else is gonna decide what you can have. And none of us want that. Now, I wanna end today with a very wonderful African proverb that I truly adore. And it goes like this.
If you wanna go somewhere fast, go alone. But if you wanna go far, well, then go together. Because the power of the group is always something that can accelerate you. Have that shared vision in front of you and give you the support at every phase of the journey. Have a clear vision of where you’re going and choose the best people to go with, and you’re gonna have a whole lot of fun accomplishing all of your goals in a 1/10 of the time.
