3 Keys to a Great Associate Launch!

This is Dr. Noel Lloyd for Five Star Management.

I’ve recently been working with another group of doctors on their first associates and we’ve had some spectacular launches with associates getting into profit in as little as 30 days. I’m going to share with you, in this video, how to have a fast, successful, exciting, and motivating associate launch.

So, you’ve hired an associate. Congratulations and what you want to do is have you and your associate help a lot of people, have a lot of fun, make great money, be successful together, and have a great relationship, but what do you do?

How do you launch that associate as quickly as possible into an exciting start so that everybody’s motivated and there’s more than enough excitement to go around? I’m going to share with you my 3-step launch sequence in this next segment.

So let me share with you my 3-step plan to have a great associate launch.

Number one, I have a selection process. I want to make sure I’m working with the right person. So, in my selection process, I have an ad that brings to me the right candidate, somebody who’s looking for success training.

Number two, I have an interview process where I really get to know the individual and what their goals are and what their motives are, so I can choose the right person.

Number three, I have an offer that shows me and the associate working together at a successful goal that I want the associate to aspire to. Now, in my selection process, if they think that’s a great opportunity, than I ‘ve got the right person selected.

The second piece, you may have heard this word before, is what I call the onboarding. Onboarding is defined as introducing somebody to your culture and your company, a brand new employee. So, right after we sign the contract with the associate, I go into who we are as a team. I have a special document that I take them through so that I can explain, “this is what I expect of every team member, here’s what I expect of myself, here’s what I expect of you.”

The next thing we do is I make assignments. Now literally as the ink is wet on the contract, I’m making their first assignments. Associates are giving you their best decision and they’ve got the most excitement about their start right at the start, so give them some good, profitable work to do.

Next, I explain the process of accountability and check-up. Now, it’s important for them to know that I’m going to being watching them, I’m going to be helping them, I’m going to be making sure that they do the work that’s necessary in order for everybody to end up at that profitable goal.

Then the third thing is that I do training. I start training right at the start. The very first day the associates in the clinic we do training on two things: new patients and handling new patients outside the office. So, new patients inside the office, day 1 and day 2, and new patients outside the office, how to bring in new patients.

Now this is my 3-step process:

  1. Selection
  2. Onboarding
  3. Training

If you do that right and you’ve made the right selection with that person, then you’ll have a wonderful, wonderful associate launch.

This is Dr. Noel Lloyd, for Five Star Management, hoping that you have a tremendous associate launch because I know that helps.
