Two Questions to Ask Everyday to Ensure You Achieve Your Goals

All right, hi. I was talking to a couple doctors today, and they kept asking me about success. And, you know, we have these big plans, we’ve got these great ideas, how do I get started? Well, it reminded me of an interview I heard between Charlie Rose and Will Smith back in the year 2002, or something around that. Will Smith was on this talk show, and he was saying, you don’t start out trying to build the biggest wall, the strongest wall, the widest wall. There has to be a way to break it down. And chiropractors are the same way. We don’t start out already having every moving piece in total working order inside of a practice. It’s difficult to do everything at once. You have to take the first step, but still keep in your mind’s eye how big this task is. But if we can break it down, break this big wall down to brick by brick, and it works. So the way that he was talking about it brought us to this system where we focus on two questions. The first question is, who am I gonna be today? It’s a simple, but very powerful question. The answer is to show up and play a role. Are you going to be the manager today?

Are you gonna be the chiropractor who leads the team? Are you gonna be the person who spot checks the system, because you care about the person, and you care about the process? Who are you gonna show up as today? What personality, what mindset, what skill set are you gonna bring in today? What’s your energy gonna be? That’s the first question, who am I gonna be today? And the second question is, who am I gonna be a hero to today? Who is gonna look at how I am today, and go, wow, that was done well? Who am I gonna be today? I’m gonna be the person who just focuses on the patient relationship, so that everyone walks into my office and they’re welcomed, and walks out knowing that we’re the place they want to be, right? Second question, who am I gonna be a hero to today? Well, I’m gonna take care of these patients to the best of my ability. I’m gonna be a hero to those patients today.

You see, you might show up as the office manager or the leader of this clinic, and be the person that your team needs, and then you’re gonna do that so well that they go, you know what, I love the way you lead today. So those are the two questions that I want you to focus on. Really easy, no matter how big the project, no matter what you want to do or have to do today, who are you gonna show up as today? And then, who are you gonna be a hero to today? One of the things you need to understand is that a successful practice, a successful life is just the sum of a lot of successful days put one right in front of the other. So go ahead, focus on those two questions. You’re gonna make a difference in people’s lives.
